In this workshop we learnt about iconic images and how they have impacted society. We were then given the task of recreating a group of iconic photographs of our choice. We worked in a group of 6 and each person chose an iconic image for the others to recreate, while they took the photographs. I attempted to replicate Steve McCurry’s famous ‘Afghan Girl’:
I was quite happy with this photograph although i don’t think it is anywhere as near as powerful as the original, the girl in which clearly has a troubled life and her overpowering eyes reflect this. I plan to edit the colour of Rhian’s eyes in my attempt of the image to make it more enthralling and effective. Overall though this task was enjoyable and allowed us to practice directing multiple models.
